A panel is chosen by the number of inputs and outputs the installation requires, by the engine governor type — mechanical or electronic — and by how you want to operate it: at the machine, over CANbus or Modbus, or remotely. If the engine must meet Tier 4F or Euro Stage V, confirm the panel supports it before buying.
